Welcome to ImproVoices Hamburg – an open, vibrant practice group for improvisational, circle singing and chant pour tous in western Hamburg, right next to Hessepark in Blankenese. Here we come together to immerse ourselves in singing with curiosity. No sheet music, no rules, and free from right or wrong.
Our group is a playground for everyone who wants to discover their voice, regardless of experience level. We experiment together, explore new sounds, and constantly surprise ourselves. It's not about a finished piece, but about the shared joy of making music in the here and now.
Each session unfolds its own dynamic, each encounter brings unique harmonies, and each voice contributes to the overall sound in its own special way. Singing for all, based on a French concept
The concept of our project is based on the international Chant pour tous movement and invites everyone to sing without sheet music or performance pressure. At its core is pure, communal music-making, exclusively vocal and corporeal. Everything is improvised a cappella in the moment, with the voice complemented by body percussion or beatboxing, and fixed songs or sheet music are completely omitted.
To make participation accessible to everyone, the program is designed to suit every budget. Therefore, there are no fixed entry fees; instead, the project relies on voluntary contributions and word-of-mouth recommendations. The format is also intentionally open to all, regardless of age, prior knowledge, or singing experience, so that the pure joy of making music together, free from any pressure to perform, takes center stage.
The evening is accompanied by a flexible moderation style, with facilitators guiding participants through the program using playful methods and intuitive gestures. This gives each session its own unique, vibrant character and allows it to dynamically adapt to the participants present.
